During a recent trip to San Francisco, we stumbled upon a real-life World War II submarine – the S.S. Pampanito – docked near Fisherman’s Wharf.  Since we had a little extra time on our hands, we bought the audio tour and walked through the boat.  It was a memorable experience and one that many older kids will enjoy because it’s so different from the war-related video games and movies they’re used to.
